Project Name and Use: Sonic Corporate Headquarters and Office Building
Project Size: 105,600 SF or 26,400 square feet on each of four floors. Tallest tilt-up panel 63’-11”. Largest tilt-up panel 1,915 square feet.
Project Location: 300 Johnny Bench Drive, Oklahoma City, OK
Construction Time: 400 calendar days.
Construction Features: Some of the largest and tallest tilt-up concrete wall panels ever constructed. All panels are load bearing reinforced concrete with numerous block outs for brick reveals and cast stone attachment. Stainless steel embeds were used to anchor the cast stone to the wall panels. Foundation system used a auger pressure grouted pile system to bedrock. Top story is exposed tilt-up concrete with cast stone accents, remaining stories feature brick veneer in keeping with the historical requirements of the area.
Design: Design-Build Services included Structural Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering for the project and coordination with owner’s and tenant’s architectural firms. Building sits adjacent to newly constructed canal which required extensive erosion control efforts and temporary crane roads with geotextile fabric.
