Cox Construction Co. was established in 1946 as a general contracting firm working for both public and private clients.  The company has been constructing commercial and industrial facilities since its inception.  The company has won national recognition for some of its design-build projects in 1996, 1997, 2001 and 2005.  E. V. Cox Construction is a member of the Tilt-Up Concrete Association, the American Concrete Institute, the Oklahoma City and United States Chambers of Commerce.  Our client list includes Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., United Parcel Service, A.T. & T., Fleming Foods, Southwestern Bell, Mobil Oil Company, Catellus Development, Trammell-Crow, Weyerhaeuser, Genuine Parts Company, Carlisle FoodService Products, Great Plains Coca-Cola, Enterprise Car Rental and Ford Motor Company.  In addition to these customers we have given the same quality of construction and level of service to hundreds of locally owned companies.

The company has worked as a general contractor since its founding.  Contract sizes for typical projects range from less than one hundred thousand to more than nine million dollars. Projects are commercial, or light industrial in nature.  The company has expertise in both tilt-up and conventional design and construction of single and multi-story buildings from 8,000 to over 300,000 square feet having designed and constructed more than two hundred fifty tilt-up projects in Oklahoma and even more conventional projects.  The company is also active in the competitive bidding market and has completed more than twenty facilities for Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. in Oklahoma and Kansas since 1991.

In 2001 the company completed a 220,000 SF corrugated manufacturing and warehousing facility for Willamette Industries (now owned by Weyerhaeuser) in Oklahoma City.  Services provided included Architectural, Structural, Civil, Mechanical and Electrical design for this design-build construction project.  In 1995 the company completed a 208,000 SF transmission re-manufacturing and warehouse facility for Fred Jones Industries (now owned by Aftermarket Technology Corporation) including project design in less than six months functioning as both the general contractor and structural engineer for the project.  For over thirty-five years the company has been actively engaged in the design and construction of tilt-up buildings.  Our experience in engineering and construction of many design-build projects for various owners gives us the edge in meeting the needs and budget of our clientele.  Our experienced work forces enable us to deliver a very high quality product at an economical price.  We strive to deliver the best product for your dollar in all areas from site selection and foundation design to interior and exterior finishes.  We can help you choose the products and methods that will give you the most value for your particular application.
